Session 11: In-Depth look at Hips (Animation)

So after 7 hours of tweaking, tweaking and more tweaking, here is what I came up with. You can scroll down to compare it to the previous walk cycle I had, basically I've added arcs, smoothed out the motion and heels are not frozen.

I don't recall personality walk cycles being that hard, its almost like the ones I did before are not helping me at all, or they weren't good enough.

Session 11: In-Depth look at Hips

This week I was fortunate enough to get comments from Cameron Miyasaki on my walk cycle. His comments were so close to those of Bret Parker (my current mentor) you can tell they both work for the same studio (PIXAR) and have the same sharp eye :)
Here is my planning base on the comments they gave me, ahh... And also Hans Heymans from Rainmaker gave me feedback on how to work the hips on the front view, thanks to all of you!

Session 11: emotion pose: balance (railroad)

I got this idea from surfing the internet, then sketched it out and posed Stu. Both poses for this week came up faster than the previous ones, feels good!

Session 11: emotion pose: balance (pole)

This is a cartoon approach to the emotion. I'm enjoying very much these posing assignments. The toughest part of this pose was to work on how to overlap his hands and feet. I've played with the sizes of the hands and toes cubes to make it work. I was also thinking that I can still push it more.
