Class 2 session 6: Refining

Counter animation is something that keeps you busy for sure, it basically means that you need to address the character in a hierarchical way, starting with the hips then legs, torso, arms and so on. It affects the animator's way of thinking; how to address the notes and make changes to you animation, when you fix one thing and 4 others break; this is computer animation. I was glad to hear from Disney during Chicken Little that they developed tools that allow animators to make changes in a traditional way, meaning more a classical animation approach where you think of the frames as drawings and not worry about any hierarchy.
