That's all for this term folks!

The pumpkin assignment will be going through lighting and rendering, hopefully finished in a month from now.

The preproduction for the Short Film will start this coming week, I hope this final project turns out nicely.

Stay tuned...

Class 04 Session 11: Final

After 18 hours of work on this week, this is what I got. Still I would like to refine a couple of details but for now its good. I have to let it go for a while and then come back to it. That will be next week.

Notes addressed:
Shot 4: Left arm on "W" pose should have a better silhouette, lip-sync kind of busy. Find mouth arcs, in particular the corners of the mouth.
Shot 1: Less bounces on the running guy, he is also too fast
The body is too stiff, look at what the legs are doing for some weight shifting
Shot 2: Shot is good to revise the spacing in the entire shot

Thanks for watching!

Class 04 Session 11: Facial Reference

More facial reference, I can't believe we had it weekly for all 3 months, they really speed you up when using the face rig. Although, the facial expression at the bottom kind of sucks, I didn't want to spend much time on this assignment due to the pressure from the animation one.

Class 04 Session 10: Refining

Notes to work on:
Shot1: Way too fast, way too many up and downs. Do half speed and less bounces.

Shot3: Character's body is too stiff, add some weight to it.

Shot 4: Work on the "w" pose, you should hit it at the end of "what".
The take on the screen left character should be earlier, maybe 6-8 frames after the word 'kidding' as a reaction.

I didn't post last week, I'm in the middle of changing my hosting plan and I wasn't sure to post or not but here it is.

Class 04 Session 09: Polishing

Notes for this week:
Shot 1: Animate characters!
Shot 2: The character comes to a complete stop, it freezes, resolve the settle. Or... cut the scene in F63 and use those frames in shot 3.
Shot 3: Hit the last pose sooner, when he says "right" head should go up, we'll appreciate his emotion better.
Shot 4: Add more breakdown poses to keep both characters alive, watch eyelines on both guys as well.

I also been having very useful comments from AM students, its impressive the level of comments I get from my peers, here is a sample from Alonso Soriano:

Aww, I liked the candle gag

Shot 2 looks really great. I think it would be nice if the left eyebrow/lid pose wasn't so sad 30-36, since it's a really similar pose through the rest of the shot, just for some contrast. The lip synch seems a tad slow, try sliding it 1 or 2 frames up. Arms seem a little unconsidered.

Shot 3 looks good. Again lip synch seems a little off. I love the last expression he goes into, but it might be even better to have a little assymetry on the brow.

Final shot's coming along well, but the twinning on blue's hands is still bugging me a little.

Class 04 Session 09: Facial Homework

Having fun with these assignments. I love how the facial rig responds to round shapes, just like the baby.
